When you are doing your safety inspection at a job site, there is no guarantee that your device is always going to have an Internet connection. For many job sites, lack of an Internet connection may be a recurring problem. But the lack of connection should not keep you from performing safety inspections.
That’s why we implemented our Safety Inspector to let you continue to record your inspection results even when it is offline and has no Internet connection. The best part is, to get it to work offline, you don’t really have to do anything. The app takes care of it for you automatically. You just need to be aware that your inspection is in offline mode. And the app takes care of that as well by keeping you informed.
Here is how you use this feature.
If you are starting a new inspection or opening an existing inspection report that’s online, make sure to do so while your device is connected to the Internet.
During the inspection, record your inspection data normally: select inspection outcomes, add comments, attach photos or select the responsible parties. Make sure to save your data occasionally by selecting Save from the toolbar at the bottom.
If you are connected to the Internet and the app is able to save your report online, you will see a standard message like this:
However, if your device is offline and unable to connect, you will see a slightly different message, informing you so.
Once saved, you can safely close the inspection report or the Zurel Pro app.
If you save the inspection report while offline and navigate back to the Inspection Dashboard on your Zurel Pro app, you will notice a small cloud icon next to the inspection report to indicate that it has been saved offline.
Once the device connects to the Internet, the app automatically saves the report online and removes the cloud icon.
As you navigate to different pages of the Safety Inspector while offline, it will continue to remind you that you are offline with messages like these.
